CoproNason Gallery presents a group art exhibition of work honoring the most widely read seer of the Renaissance, Nostradamus. Michel de Nostredame, more commonly known as Nostradamus, has intrigued the world for five centuries, considered by many to be the greatest prophet who has ever lived. While most prophets recorded vague visions of future events, Nostradamus pinpointed his predictions using specific dates, astrological configurations, climatic events and anagrams naming the villains hundreds of years before they appeared. His prophetic writings were known as Centuries which contained one hundred prophetic verses of four lines each known as quatrains mostly dealing with disasters of various sorts and predictions of an Apocalypse in the beginning of the next millennium. It is believed he conjured his visions by staring into a mirror until it became cloudy and visions of the future appeared.Artists depictions of prophesies and apocalypse will include: Amanda Visell, Anthony Ausgang, Brian Viveros, Charles Manson, Charles Wish, Chet Zar, Dan Quintana, David Lynch, Esao Andrews, Gidget Gein, Isabel Samaras Joe Ledbetter, Joe Vaux, Joey Remmers, John John Jesse, Kevin Peterson, KRK Ryden, Luke Chueh, Michael Leavitt, Naoto Hattori, Pamela Jaeger, Pooch, Robert Craig, Ron English, Sas Christian, Shag, Shepard Fairey, Stone Thomas Han, Ver Mar & many more!! update:: December 30th, 2006

hi there

i have just posted 3 new prints in the buy section of the site: 'dunce', 'he makes us dream' and 'interloper 2', all from my oval portrait series. each print is 11"x 14" (fits standard frame) and is limited to an edition of 50. the oval portraits have been some of my best selling paintings, so i thought y'all might like 'em in print form. there will be more of these to come. go here to buy 'em.

i also posted images in the gallery of the paintings from my 'new blood' show. you can find them here.

i will post photos from the show when i find them (somewhere in my vast expanse of  disorganized hard drives).

yo yo yo

first: 2 new images in the gallery, 'spook' and 'mouf'. i am also offering them both as prints, with a limited edition of only 50 each ('mourner', another print edition of only 50 is almost sold out). one of the nice things about these 2 new prints is that they fit a standard 9x12 frame, so no need for custom framing.

i will be offering some other limited edition prints from my oval portrait series soon.

so anyway, the New Blood show went very well. the artwork was nothing short of spectacular and it was indeed an honor to be included. you can see (and buy) artwork from the show at the copronason website. hereis a separate link to see my stuff from the show. i will have it in the gallery in the next update, along with some pictures from the show (i didn't get too many). the show is up until the 26th, so go see it if you get the chance! thank you all who showed, all who came and all who bought!

i also have the 'spook' and 'mouf' originals in the L Salon 2 show:

hello once again-

i know it's been a while since my last update. it has been an extremely hectic couple of months. i won't bore you with the details. rather, let me take this time to tell you about my BIG show coming up at the copronason gallery. it is entitled "New Blood". it is a three person show featuring myself, and two other newer painters in the underground art scene, Pooch and Dan Quintanas (sorry, i don't think they have websites). they are both really talented and i look forward to showing with them. anyway, i will have a bunch of new paintings i have created just for this show. i hope you can come by and say hello, or maybe even buy something. click here for the eflyer.

hi

first, thanks to everyone who has donated to the chris ayres leukemia fund. the response has been truly overwhelming. go hereto read a note from chris to all of you who helped out. there is also a note posted there telling about his progress. thanks again for all of your support (financial and otherwise). you guys never cease to amaze me.

i have a bunch of new paintings up in the fine art analog section: http://www.chetzar.com/fineanalog2.html
http://www.chetzar.com/fineanalog3.html

sorry for the lack of news updates. i have been busy getting ready for a big show i am having at the copronason gallery (www.copronason.com) in november. i am going to try to have 15 new paintings for it, so that is keeping my plate more than full. i will keep you posted on that.

i will also be offering a new limited edition print of "it's all good" through the copronasongallery soon. this will be a fairly low numbered edition high quality giclee print, so if you are interested in getting one early before they are sold out, you can email copronason's curator, gary.

other than that, i have been getting a lot of positive response on myspace.com. if you don't have an account, you should get one. it is the most active web community i have ever seen, and there are hundreds, if not thousands (the total number of registered users is 20 + million right now!) of people with similar interests as us there. a warning though: fox just bought it for 580 million bucks, so it may get spoiled by corporate interests soon. at this point, though, it's still a really cool thing.

until we meet again
